Friends of + POOL hosts regular riversweeps during the warm weather months to help keep the waterways of New York City beautiful for the citizens of the city. Part of being a good steward of public space includes keeping the rivers free from debris that can harm water quality, change the ecology of the river, and hurt marine wildlife. Riversweeps are volunteer events that gather citizens for a day of service to build community and raise awareness of the issues impacting our waterways.
