When we started this crazy journey to build + POOL, we learned some of the scary stats about how many kids in NYC don’t know how to swim. So we made it part of our mission to help kids learn who otherwise might not have the opportunity. We connected with city agencies that know what kids need to learn most, talked to our aquatic friends who know how to teach, and then partnered with artists to make swim gear so the kids can have everything they need to be successful on day one. It’s called the Summer Bluefish.
2017’s Summer Bluefish students will be sporting swim gear designed by artist Curtis Kulig. For + POOL, Curtis customizes his signature ‘Love Me‘ campaign. Throughout the repeated pattern, Kulig creates a series of small pools, filling sweeping L’s with blues, aquas and greens in hopes that one day every city will have clean, swimmable, beautiful water.
