It chronicles the history of New Yorkers interacting with their rivers, dating back to floating bathhouses in the early 1900s. Through interviews with loads (but not nearly all!) of the amazing people involved, the film explains how a floating, Olympic-sized pool called + POOL will filter out contaminants to create swimmable water and clean up to a half-million gallons of water each day. The film short is scored by DFA’s Museum of Love, and narrated by Neil Patrick Harris (!!!!!) A 360 VR piece accompanies the film and shows what it will be like to one day swim in the river.
